Chinese Calligraphy Artists visit Room 24.

Room 24 had a wonderful visit from a Chinese Calligraphy Artist.  We learnt how to hold the paint brush properly and then write the numbers 1-10 using ink on rice paper.  Even Miss Stewart had a go!  Check it out.....

Screen Printing

We have been busy screen printing tea towels ready for the Art Exhibition.  We have been following a Enviro Schools theme and looked at the plants and trees in our Gully for inspiration to design our tea towels.

Stu Duval

As part of the lead up to the Meadowbank Art Exhibition we were lucky enough to have the fantastic cartoon artist Stu Duval visit us.  He told us his new story of 'Rat Island' and then turned us all into artists by showing us how to draw some cartoons.

Water Fun!

Waitakere Water Care Visit

We had a visit from Waitakere Water Care (follow up from our Rainforest Trip) and we got to experiment with water.  We had to think about what happens to rain as it comes down the ranges/mountains.  We formed rivers / streams and lakes and thought about what makes a current run faster / slower.  We now have a much deeper understanding of the water cycle and how to keep our water cleaner.
